The most important red wine grape in Austria today is called Zweigelt. This is what their creator, Dr. Fritz Zweigelt certainly wasn't dreaming when he crossed the variety from Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent at the wine-growing school in Klosterneuburg in 1922. It's understandable, because Zweigelt delivers an elegant, fruity, spicy red wine that you don't want to miss. Our dry Zweigelt, which shines in a medium ruby red, has a wonderful berry fruit, complemented by hints of sour cherries, heather and green peppers. The palate is pampered with a welcome freshness and fine tannins, which give the wine a neat structure and a lively and lively style.
